I spent a week at this hospital in October 2023 after being diagnosed with pneumonia. I cannot speak too highly about my experience and all the staff (the consultant Ali, the doctors, nurses, porters and catering staff) worked so hard and were simply brilliant. I walked into the hospital A and E (no queueing in an ambulance) and was seen within 20 minutes.
Spent three and a half months in the QEUH last year , nursing , medical staff ,AHPs , domestic and kitchen staff were so kind and patient . Referrals and investigations were made so quickly and results reported back within a few hours / days . By the time I left it was like leaving my family behind !
The Atrium part of the hospital with an M & S food
hall , newsagent and cafes was a great place to meet with visitors or take a walk if you are mobile,
We hear so many negative comments about the NHS and our hospitals but I have nothing but admiration and thanks for the staff in QEUH . They were just the best and I will never be able to thank them enough !!
The staff at all levels and skills were a wonderful helpful and caring group of people. Apart from several day care visits I have been treated in this hospital some three or four times with stays ranging from one to four or five overnight ones. I can certainly recommend the quality of the care given.
My husband attended the hospital because of chest pains we were told many different diagnoses and not one was true, we were told he had pleurisy, septicemia, abscess on his lung and blood clot, for 2 days we thought he was going to die, and no one would give us a straight answer. every time we asked doctor. what was really wrong or was he getting out we were told " how longs a piece of string,,. within one week we had to pay £550 for travel as we cant get to the hospital for our location.. The doctors where no help i got so stressed out i shouted at the doctor to help and tell me what was going on, which i still never received an answer but seems to be pretty friendly with my husband.. but im being growled at.. so seems to me as if something going on
I was traumatized by the treatment I received,it
shattered my family
If I wasnt sure NHS would have faked my notes I would sue!
Went to get a brain wave scan the place was dirty staff were ok
I. Was rushed to QEU. Hospital on 4 recent occasions. From porters to nurses and doctors, I received very thorough, professional and sensitive care. No stone was left un- turned to get to my problems,- blood tests. Monitoring. Scans, diagnosed, medications. All staff under ferocious pressure, but battled on to give top class medical and mental support. Last ward I was in - AR 8, eighth floor, were like other areas oustamding. Despite all pressures they are in day in day out, you know you are in safe hands. P
Just after having spent a second stay in ward 4c haematology, all the staff were brilliant both times, very caring and very welcoming. Can’t thank them enough.
I have had to be rushed by taxi to QEUH on a number of times recently. From reception to initial nurses
assessmentt, blood tests to doctors, the service, even when packed with other patients, was outstanding, sensitive and thorough! Yesterday I had to go back and doctor made immediate, accurate decision to arrange an emergency procedure at Urology Department very late at night. The nursing staff and doctors were 100 per cent efficient, supportive and urology nurses even wheeled me in a chair through corridors to exactly where I would get my taxi safely. I would recommend hospital to all. Mr Stephen Joyce
